Making Cybersecurity Part of Corporate Strategy: Magura and Axsos Establish a Future-Proof ISMS

Client: Gustav Magenwirth GmbH (Magura) Industry: Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Services: Cybersecurity and Digital Security

Gustav Magenwirth GmbH (Magura) is a leading manufacturer of high-performance bicycle brakes and components. The company is part of the Magenwirth Technologies Group and operates a major joint venture with Bosch. In addition to its production facilities in Germany and Portugal, Magura operates internationally. The partnership with a company of Bosch’s stature placed high demands on IT security. Axsos supported Magura in the development and implementation of a cloud-based information security management system (ISMS) and in achieving successful TISAX certification.

Increasing compliance requirements and IT security that was no longer sufficient

TISAX requirements and the Bosch partnership make a professional ISMS essential

As an internationally active company in partnership with Bosch, Magura faced the need to fundamentally overhaul its IT security. In light of rising requirements, the existing security measures were no longer sufficient, particularly with regard to the required TISAX certification and increasing compliance obligations.

What was missing was a well-designed information security management system (ISMS) that integrates seamlessly into day-to-day operations, defines clear processes, and fosters a comprehensive understanding of security throughout the company. Without such a system, it was virtually impossible to ensure the robustness of audits, partnerships with Tier 1 companies, and sustainable corporate governance.

Cloud-based ISMS with a security awareness program and an audit-ready process structure

Thinking About Technology, Organization, and People as a Whole

Axsos worked with Magura to develop a customized, cloud-based ISMS that goes beyond mere documentation. Together, they analyzed security requirements, established clear structures, and designed all processes to be practical for day-to-day operations and audit-ready.

01

Cloud-Based ISMS

The cloud-based ISMS was built specifically to meet Magura's requirements. It is practical, scalable, and covers all relevant security requirements.

02

Awareness Program

In addition to the technical implementation, a comprehensive security awareness program was established to specifically prepare employees for current risks and foster a new security culture within the company.

03

Simulated Phishing Attacks

Regular training sessions and simulated phishing attacks continuously test and sharpen the workforce's security awareness. As a result, IT security becomes an integral part of daily practice.

04

Emergency Manuals and Audit Documents

Interactive workshops resulted in the creation of emergency response manuals and audit documents that are precisely tailored to the requirements of TISAX certification. The system was supported by specific KPIs.

ISMS implementation in 8 to 9 months, while business operations continue as usual

Workshops, KPI support, and a phased rollout without disrupting operations

The project was implemented in just 8 to 9 months, while day-to-day operations continued. Interactive workshops were used to develop emergency manuals and audit documents that are precisely tailored to the requirements of TISAX certification.

The new ISMS was systematically implemented and backed by specific KPIs to make progress measurable and enable continuous improvement. Axsos supported not only the technical implementation but also the organizational integration of the system, ensuring that IT security becomes second nature throughout the entire company.

TISAX Certification Achieved, Safety Culture Embedded, Collaboration Continued
